Eliah Seton is a widely respected music industry executive based in New York. He was named President of SoundCloud in April 2021.
Seton was then named CEO of SoundCloud in March 2023.
Prior to joining SoundCloud, Seton was President of Independent Music & Creator Services at Warner Music Group, where he ran the company’s indie label and artist-serving division, ADA Worldwide.
Under Seton’s leadership, ADA secured an exclusive global distribution deal with BMG, as well as deals for the likes of Doug Morris’ 12 Tone, Ciara’s Beautymarks Entertainment, Paradigm’s Big Picnic, Cherrytree, Platinum Records, and Knightvision.
Eliah Seton: Warner Music Group Career
Eliah Seton joined Warner Music Group in 2009 as Director of Business Development, having previously been a Summer Associate at Goldman Sachs.
Seton’s first role at Warner saw him directly involved in the process of the $3.3bn sale of WMG to Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries in 2011.
From that point to his most recent job at Warner – President of Independent Music & Creator Services – Seton has worked closely with WMG’s C-suite, including the firm’s CEO, Steve Cooper.
Before joining ADA in 2015, Seton – working with WMG’s ex-CEO of International, Stu Bergen – played a key role in driving WMG’s emerging markets strategy, including standout M&A moves in China and Eastern Europe.
Eliah Seton: Running ADA at Warner
After taking on the role of President of ADA Worldwide in 2015, Seton and his team more than doubled the size of the business.
Under his watch, ADA established an operation in Nashville, where it has inked deals with country labels such as Broken Bow Records and Big Label Records.
With clients including Beggars Group, Sub Pop, Domino, and Epitaph, ADA represents a range of artists across genres and career stages – including Jason Aldean, Arctic Monkeys, Margo Price, Ciara, Jeff Tweedy/Wilco, Anderson.Paak, Lil Dicky, Macklemore, Flatbush Zombies, and many others.
In 2017, Seton oversaw the re-launch of WMG’s iconic Asylum Records as a new label focusing on streaming and offering uniquely flexible recording deals to new and emerging artists. Asylum is led by Gabrielle Peluso, with a roster that includes Ugly God, Sada Baby, and Dice Soho, among others.
That same year, Seton initiated the creation of a new Arts Music division, which focuses on signing, developing, and marketing artists and releases across genres – from musical theatre and classical, to jazz and children’s music, to soundtracks and mood music.Music Business Worldwide
