The BRIT Awards are the annual awards ceremony for UK artists.
Since 2011, they have taken place during Q1 at the O2 Arena, London.
The BRIT Awards are owned by BRIT Awards Ltd, which in turn is controlled by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry).
The awards were launched 1977 before becoming an annual event in 1982 under the BPI’s control.
In 1989, the event was rebranded as The BRIT Awards.
