Zebralution GmbH is a digital distributor for music and audiobooks.
Headquartered in Berlin and with further offices in Germany, France, Spain, the UK and the US, the company’s customers include audio streaming services, independent music labels and audiobook publishers.
The company works with over 1,000 record labels and audio book publishers from around the world.
Zebralution was founded in 2003 by Kurt Thielen and Sascha Lazimbat, before being acquired by Warner Music Group in 2007.
Warner Music Central Europe agreed to sell Zebralution in 2017 to a consortium of independent music industry executives consisting of City Slang boss Christof Ellinghaus, owner of label Embassy of Music Konrad von Loehneysen as well as the original founders of Zebralution, Kurt Thielen and Sascha Lazimbat.
Milestones
In July 2019, Zebralution acquired all shares in its technical service provider Encoding Management Service (EMS).
In December 2019, German PRO GEMA announced that it had bought a majority stake in Zebralution.Music Business Worldwide
