Middle East and North Africa-focused music streaming company Anghami has partnered with Amazon to give Prime members free access to Anghami Plus, Anghami’s premium paid tier service in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Prime subscribers in the two regions will receive a free six-month subscription to Anghami Plus, followed by 50% off the subscription fee for the next six months.
Amazon Prime launched in the UAE in June 2019, while Amazon launched in Saudi Arabia in August last year.
Amazon Music Unlimited, the company’s Spotify rival music service, is not available in either of the two markets at present.
Amaozon’s partnership Anghami will grant Prime members in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, access to “millions of songs and podcasts, unlimited downloads, and more,” says the company.
Anghami Plus includes ad-free music, unlimited downloads, lyrics, multi-device play and rewind, scrub, and repeat features.
The announcement comes several months after Anghami entered into a definitive merger agreement with publicly traded special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Vistas Media Acquisition Company Inc.
The deal will result in Anghami listing on the NASDAQ in New York.
The partnership also comes shortly after the announcement of Anghami’s bricks and mortar plans to build entertainment venues in London, Los Angeles and Dubai.
