Armada Music is an Amsterdam-, New York- and London-based music company that operates on a global scale. Our aim is to be the best partner for artists in the electronic music realm to work with, not only for the distribution and promotion of their music, but also in developing and shaping a solid career. As a brand, we aim to strengthen our position as a top supplier of the best music available in all electronic genres. We launched the U.S. office in 2016 and the U.K. office in 2017. Because of our growth, we are looking to expand our New York team.
As a Junior Radio Promoter, you will play a key role in aligning the U.S. Radio Promotion with the main (and global) promotional activities from the Amsterdam and U.K. office. You will devise a strategic plan for approaching the U.S. market and contribute to the creation of promotional plans for singles and albums released by Armada Music, mainly focusing on U.S. radio promo potential.
What will you be doing?
- You will devise strategic plans for approaching the U.S. radio landscape;
- You will promote Armada artists and their releases to relevant radio stations, DJs and their respective teams;
- You will create specific promotion plans for artists, singles and albums;
- You will arrange guest mixes, liners and interviews with radio;
- You will maintain a good relationship with radio stations/radio show (hosts), music directors, relevant (club) DJs, compilers of DJ/specialist radio shows;
- You will proactively work on expanding our network;
- You will watch trends and proactively research new opportunities and developments to improve (and subsequently execute) our promotion strategy;
- You will monitor important DJ support and radio/streaming playlist adds and will share your findings with the team;
- You will carefully analyze developments in the U.S. radio landscape (and DJ scene) as well as promo results;
- You will adapt and retarget promo campaigns in consultation with the Product Management / Marketing departments;
- You will share achievement reports with various internal departments such as Product Management, Marketing, A&R and Promotions on a weekly basis;
- You will visit fairs, (dance) events, studios and potential relations as a representative of Armada.
Who are we looking for?
- You have 2-3 years of qualifying work experience in a similar role in the music industry;
- You know your way around in the U.S. radio scene and you’re blessed with an inventive and creative mindset;
- You have extensive knowledge of dance music and know all about the catalogs of Armada Music and other labels and artists in the U.S. and beyond;
- You’re resourceful, creative and a team player;
- You have excellent (verbal and written) communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- You’re able to cope with pressure and changing deadlines extremely well and can keep your head straight while working on multiple projects at the same time;
- You currently live in or near New York City.
