Reporting to the Chief Executive:-

Responsibilities
  • Business operations including facilities and building contracts, staff health and safety, first aid, office licences, IT management and company secretarial.
  • Board management including dealing with CEOs and Chairs of member organisations. Minuting board meetings and disseminating board papers, scheduling board meetings.
  • Project management across all aspects of the organisations output, including regular reports and publications, to ensure cross functionality across the team and on time delivery.
  • Financial management for the organisation alongside Financial Director, handling all invoices, expenses, and credit cards. Work with Financial Director and senior staff to set annual budget and ensure staff spending is in line with year-to-date forecast.
  • Working with senior management team to ensure effective running of organisation.
  • Handling company HR, including recruitment, managing staff holiday allowance, grievances, and appraisals.
  • Responsibility for temporary staff and office interns.
  • Manage upcoming office move and transition to hybrid working.
  • Running all UK Music events, e.g. annual summer party, Parliamentary events, report launches, discussion panels etc. – ownership of events from conception to delivery, including booking venues, organising vendors & performers, managing event budgets and assigning roles to staff.
  • Working with UK Music’s Design & Events Officer on guestlist, invitations, and smooth running of all events.
  • Coordinating UK Music attendance at external events, e.g. concerts and gigs and member awards shows – including inviting stakeholder attendees, booking tables & tickets, ticket distribution and tracking spending across related budget lines.

  • Strong IT skills.
  • Experience and knowledge
  • At least three years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Participation in the development of successful projects / events.
  • An understanding of the music industry and an appreciation of why the political process is important to the sector.
