Canadian rights management company ole has acquired TV production music agency Jingle Punks to create what it claims is one of the world’s largest production music libraries.
The deal folds ole’s 150,000-strong production music repertoire into Jingle Punks’ and as such doubles Jingle Punks’ repertoire offering for clients.
Jingle Punks has creative studios in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, and Toronto, and a client roster of over 1,000 television shows including NBC’s The Voice, and the worldwide show Pawn Stars.
The company offers a tech platform which it says simplifies music licensing, as well as producing sound solutions from original music to experiential executions.
Recent integrations include the Jingle Punks Hipster Orchestra’s formatting of the 20th anniversary of the album Illmatic for American rapper and songwriter, Nas, and creation of country superstar Dierks Bentley’s song for The History Channel show, Biker Battleground Phoenix.
Jingle Punks will continue to operate as usual in Los Angeles and New York under the respective direction of Jared Gutstadt (pictured left) and Dan Demole (pictured right), who founded Jingle Punks.
The Jingle Punks operation in Nashville will be folded into ole’s Nashville operation.
Said Robert Ott, CEO & Chairman of ole: “ole looks forward to working with Jingle Punks towards a future that combines our respective strengths to great advantage and for the benefit of our clients. Jared and Dan are great entrepreneurial talents who have built the most exciting brand in production music history, and we look forward to increased profitability together.”
Dan Demole, COO & Founder of Jingle Punks, said: “This is the kind of deal we’ve dreamt of since our founding in 2008: working with an independent and entrepreneurial company such as ole that, like Jingle Punks, has asserted itself as a leader in their space by aggressively breaking conventions.”
“ole’s sensibilities are keenly matched with ours. We continue to focus on the core assets and core capabilities of our business and grow, grow, grow. This is a new day for Jingle Punks and is going to not only benefit our staff and network of artists, but the wonderful clients we have been servicing for the past 7 years,” says Jingle Punks CEO & Founder, Jared Gutstadt.
Founded in 2004, with operations in Toronto, Nashville, New York and Los Angeles, ole is engaged in IP acquisitions, creative development, and worldwide rights management. The ole catalog includes over 45,000 songs and 60,000 hours of TV and film music across all genres.
