The co-founder of International Talent Booking (ITB), Barry Dickins, will collect the Primavera Award in Spain in late May.
The gong will be presented in recognition of Dickins’ contribution to the live music industry.
Dickins is the son of the founder of the NME, Percy Dickins, and the father of noted agent Lucy Dickins and artist manager Jonathan Dickins.
He remains an active agent in the business, representing acts such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Neil Young.
Dickins started in the business at the age of 17 working with The Who. He has also worked with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding and The Doors.
The exec, who co-founded ITB with Rod MacSween in 1978, will receive the award at the PrimaveraPro conference in Barcelona in late May.
Today, the roster at UK-based ITB includes Adele, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Biffy Clyro and Mumford & Sons.Music Business Worldwide
