Avex USA has hired Shilpa Das as VP, Head of Publishing & Label Administration.
Based in Los Angeles, Das will oversee administration for Avex USA Publishing and the Avex USA label SELENE.
Launched in 2020, and led by President Naoki Osada, Avex USA is the American operation of Japan’s Avex Group.
AVEX USA oversees the record label SELENE, Avex USA Publishing, and its Future of Music investment fund from its Los Angeles headquarters, Avex House.
Das joins Avex USA after eleven years with Reach Music Publishing, where she managed copyright administration and royalties.
The exec started her career in the music industry at eMusic, working in licensing and administration.
Avex USA label SELENE has helped break emerging artists like Sadie Jean, Austin George, Sophie Holohan and Zach Hood.
The company’s Publishing division represents writers including J. Que, Will Jay, and, through its joint venture with Brandon Silverstein’s S10 Entertainment, and hitmakers like Justin Bieber’s close collaborator HARV, The Kid Laroi’s collaborator Cxdy from Internet Money,
Other writers/producers include Bella Poarch’s Build A Bitch co-writer David Arkwright, Curtis Waters’ Stunnin producer Declan Hoy, KOSA (the songwriter & producer behind hits with RVSSIAN, Lil Baby, Future, Bad Bunny, Travis Scott and more) and Shenseea.
In February, Avex USA struck a partnership with Sony Music Publishing to provide worldwide administration services (ex. Japan) to Avex USA’s catalog and roster of songwriters and producers.
