Downtown Music-owned B2B distributor FUGA has appointed Sarah Landy as SVP, Americas.
Effective immediately, Landy will join FUGA’s Los Angeles office and oversee all business development and client relations for North and South America.
Landy was formerly the Vice President of Lowly, the independent record label formed alongside The Nations network.
Landy led Lowly’s business day to day, overseeing operations, marketing, creative, A&R and sync. She brings 20 years of experience within the music industry to her new role at FUGA.
Previously, as the Senior Director of Marketing for Sony’s RED Music division, Landy worked on campaigns for artists/labels, and brands, including Mumford & Sons/Glassnote, Gatorade, and Cirque du Soleil.
Landy joined RED in 2009.
She would later join AWAL as General Manager, North America, becoming that company’s first US hire in 2014.
Landy was promoted to Senior Vice President of Client Development with AWAL, where she spent more than five years before exiting in 2019.
Reporting to FUGA CCO, David Driessen, Landy will now oversee the distributor’s roster of clients in the Americas, including Epitaph, Dim Mak, Better Noise Music, and Sua Música.
She will be based in FUGA’s West Coast office, following the footsteps of Senior Marketing Services Director’, Ryan Stockwell who was announced last month as part of a raft of senior hires and promotions.
FUGA’s clients range from Armada, Better Noise and Curb to Mom + Pop, mtheory, and Ninja Tune.
In April 2022, FUGA inked a global distribution and marketing services deal with independent Stockholm-based label and creative studio YEAR0001 in its first foray into the Nordic market.
The YEAR0001 deal was preceded by the opening of FUGA’s Berlin office two weeks earlier in Kreuzberg, headed by Curt Keplin, who joined FUGA in December 2020 as Business Development & Marketing Manager but was promoted to Head of Business Development.
“I am delighted to be joining the wonderful team at FUGA, a company I’ve long admired. I am incredibly excited to be in the fabric of FUGA’s excellent labels and partners.”
