Ingrooves Music Group has expanded into India and has named Amit Sharma as Ingrooves Country Manager, India.
Sharma joins Ingrooves from music streaming service, Gaana.
Ingrooves has also inked global distribution deals with Himesh Reshammiya and Yo Yo Honey Singh, furthering the company’s expansion into the Indian music market.
Ingrooves will release the future output from the two artists.
Himesh Reshammiya is an actor, producer, composer, and singer, and Yo Yo Honey Singh is a singer, rapper and actor.
The deal with Ingrooves includes the two artists’ owned labels – Himesh Reshammiya Melodies and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
At Gaana, Sharma served as Assistant Vice President of Content Acquisitions.
Previously, he worked as Head of Music and Telecom at Eros, and held positions at various Indian telecom companies, including Idea Cellular and Airtel.
He will be based in Mumbai.
The launch in India follows Ingrooves’ expansion into Italy, Spain, Brazil, Denmark, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey, as well as increasing its presence in Australia, New Zealand and Sweden.
