Distribution and services company INgrooves Music Group has recruited SK Sharma in the newly-created position of EVP of Insights & Analytics – and announced that former Ticketmaster CEO Sean Moriarty is joining its board.
The company said SK Sharma’s appointment “further demonstrates [our] long-standing commitment to being at the forefront of developing innovative methodologies that will pave the way for increased monetization opportunities for its partners”.
SK Sharma (pictured left) was most recently the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Patent Licensing International, a €120M venture capital fund partnered with LIVIA Group.
In his past role as a Vice President and Partner at the Mitchell Madison Group and OC&C Strategy, Sharma led engagements for Fortune 500 CEOs in corporate strategy and M&A, and leveraged his training as a Caltech research scientist to build a customer and marketing analytics and insights practice.
Sean Moriarty (pictured right) currently serves as the CEO of The Leaf Group.
Previous to Leaf Group, he served as the CEO of Ticketmaster and Saatchi Art.
“Both Sean and SK have been leaders in digital innovation for decades,” said Bob Roback, CEO of INgrooves.
“Our agile service team will define the next generation of data-driven strategies to help INgrooves’ partners grow their businesses in the music industry’s expanded digital economy.”

SK Sharma said: “The chance to grow INgrooves’ insights-driven global business is one that I am extraordinarily excited about.
“INgrooves is keenly focused on developing actionable insights that blend our unique expertise in indie music and modern data analytics.
“This puts INgrooves in an exclusive position to clearly identify the best possible monetization and engagement opportunities for our label and artist partners.”
Sean Moriarty led Ticketmaster from 2005-2009 where he was promoted from President to CEO.
During that time, he managed the company’s transformation to a major global and e-commerce player.
He helped expand the scope of the company’s operations through strategic investments and acquisitions, which contributed to Ticketmaster’s significant growth both in the United States and abroad.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Eventbrite, TuneIn and non-profit CoachArt.
“INgrooves’ team of passionate music lovers and technology innovators is the essential combination for this moment of significant change in the music industry,” said Sean Moriarty.
“Through data and insights, INgrooves is well positioned to lead the way on how music distribution services can best impact the way its partners do business.”Music Business Worldwide
