ABKCO Music has inked a deal for the exclusive worldwide publishing administration of all compositions written by the members of Dishwalla (Jim Wood, Scot Alexander, Justin Fox, George Pendergast III, Rodney Browning Cravens).
The deal encompasses the band’s entire recorded output, including their 2017 comeback full-length Juniper Road, as well as their debut album Pet Your Friends (featuring 1996 hit single “Counting Blue Cars”).
The agreement also includes songs on the band’s albums And You Think You Know What Life’s About, Opaline, Dishwalla and additional soundtrack work.
Formed in Santa Barbara, CA in 1993, Dishwalla have won a Billboard Award for Best Rock Song, as well as back-to-back ASCAP Awards for Rock Track Of The Year.
Dishwalla went on hiatus in 2005 and returned in 2008 with lead vocalist Justin Fox. The release of Juniper Road in July of this year was their first album since reuniting and their first with Fox.
Dishwalla’s music has been featured in Empire Records, The Avengers, American Pie and many other cinema productions.
“We look forward to helping Dishwalla capitalize on their past, present and future successes in innovative ways that take into account the ever-changing industry landscape.”

On the TV, they have had songs in Smallville, The OC, NCIS, as well as in Charmed, where the band appeared as musical guests in one episode. Dishwalla has been referenced several times in How I Met Your Mother.
“We’re really excited to find ourselves alongside so many legends at ABKCO,” said Dishwalla keyboardist Jim Wood. “They were an obvious choice for us, as they’ve been instrumental in furthering the careers of so many artists who have influenced us.”
“We are very happy to be working with Dishwalla,” commented ABKCO’s C.O.O. Alisa Coleman. “We look forward to helping them capitalize on their past, present and future successes in innovative ways that take into account the ever-changing industry landscape. They are tremendously talented, and we are proud to welcome them to the ABKCO family.”
Juniper Road was produced by Sylvia Massy, who has worked with artists including Tool, Prince and Aerosmith.
She is also known for engineering Rick Rubin-produced albums by System of a Down, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Johnny Cash’s Grammy award winning album Unchained.
