Atlantic Records UK and Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), both owned by Warner Music Group, have inked a partnership deal with Candela Records, a newly-established UK-Latin based record label.
The deal is the first time a UK frontline label has partnered with a UK based Latino label, says Austin Daboh, EVP, Atlantic Records UK.
Under the terms of the partnership, Atlantic Records UK and ADA will assist Candela Records in signing and developing new artists, as well as distributing its current roster globally, including Angelo Flow and Esko.
Candela Records, co-founded by Luciano Santana Pinto and Jose Luis Seijas, is an extension of the UK-based media group and champions of Latin culture Latino Life.
The group additionally runs Latino Life Magazine, and also manage events and social media channels.
As part of the new venture, Seijas is overseeing Candela Records operations, Pinto is Head of A&R and Amaranta Wright, Latino Life Magazine founder and editor, is Head of Communications.
