THE ROLE

Working as part of the Music team to support our the growth of our catalogue, our commissioning goals and the management of our composers’ projects. Supporting the flow of projects through our music supply chain to maintain our music commissioning, delivery and release targets

Composer Project Management responsibilities with supervision from Head of Catalogue Strategy & Composer Projects:

  • Briefing and commissioning new composer projects in line with overarching catalogue strategy
  • Presenting demos and works in progress to music team colleagues in listening sessions
  • Presenting feedback to composers and being their main point of contact throughout a project
  • Coordinating production budgets with composers and assisting with required recording session plans
  • Managing any 3rd party invoicing associated with projects
  • Managing delivery of completed projects

Catalogue Strategy Responsibilities:

  • Creative analysis of data relating to album and genre performance to support catalogue strategy prioritisation and implementation
  • Liaise with composer projects & A&R teams on briefing, commissioning and delivery of catalogue strategy briefs and track KPIs and progress against goals

Project Coordination responsibilities:

  • Managing musician invoice admin
  • Chasing for track delivery, processing music and paperwork ready for production
  • Liaising with Marketing on assets required to support the release of our music and responding to sales team ad hoc requests
SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Three to five years’ experience in a music or related role preferably including working with artists and / or composers or musicians at a creative and technical level
  • A solid foundation in music theory topics such as composition, harmony, theory, musical arrangement and ensembles to include orchestral music (film music or classical). Knowledge to grade 5 theory and above or equivalent practical experience desirable
  • Experience analysing data in Microsoft Excel, drawing conclusions, creating presentations and reports
  • Understanding of and interest in the application of music to picture (Film, TV and Advertising)
  • Critical listening skills, analysing music and discussing with colleagues and composers using technical and shared / specialist language
  • Extremely competent user of Microsoft office applications especially Microsoft Excel
