Located in Los Angeles, the Vice President, Sync & Licensing generates revenue by securing the placement of Anthem Entertainment songs in film, television, advertising, videogames and other media markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate revenue by successfully placing Anthem Entertainment songs, songwriters and composers in film, television, advertising, videogames and other media projects
- Establish, maintain, and grow effective relationships with key industry creative contacts, such as music supervisors, licensing staff, studio music executives, agents, advertising agency executives, directors, picture and music editors, and talent
- Create demand evenly across all catalogs by strategizing and implementing long-term campaigns
- Anticipate and understand the music requirements of productions ahead of the competition
- Provide creative direction to Anthem songwriters and artists to maximize their sync opportunities
- Collaborate with other creative team members and offices to identify and maximize opportunities for Anthem songs and songwriters across genres, media and borders
- Effectively utilize Anthem’s technology for efficient pitching and tracking
- Partner with Anthem team to organize, manage and host special promotional and sponsorship events
- Maintain and organize prospects, pitch and results lists and reports
- Other duties on occasion as required by needs of the business
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Sales and results-oriented
- Proven success promoting songs for syncs and creating value
- Strong relationships with music decision makers and key influencers in U.S. film, television and media
- Ability to identify commercially viable music and to match the right songs with the right production
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively and efficiently balance numerous and diverse tasks
- Knowledge of all musical genres and styles; well versed in popular music history and culture
- Understanding of current sync market dynamics
- Proven ability to research, qualify and effectively service leads, prospects and clients.
- High degree of computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, iTunes, social networking, internet research
- Creative thinker
- Minimum three years’ experience as a creative music publishing executive or entrepreneur
- College or university education in field an asset
- Keen desire to learn everyday
- Demonstrates a passion for music
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure
