Elie Habib is the co-founder and CTO of Middle Eastern music streaming service Anghami.
Habib co-founded Anghami in 2011 alongside the firm’s CEO, Eddy Maroun.
“When we started in 2011 the biggest thing that we contributed to the [MENA] region and to everybody that came afterwards was education,” Habib told Music Business Worldwide in 2019. “We taught people what streaming is.”
Prior to launching Anghami, Habib was co-founder and CTO of PowerMeMobile, which operated in the mobile messaging market.

In March 2021, Anghami announced a merger with with US-based special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Vistas Media Acquisition Company Inc.
The move took Anghami public on the NASDAQ, resulting in a combined enterprise valuation of approximately $220 million for the merged company.
