Avex USA Publishing has formed a joint venture with Coup D’Etat Music, a subsidiary of The Revels Group, to sign Nigerian Afrobeats singer-producer Victony.
Known for his viral hit Soweto last year, Victony has collaborated with the likes of Rema, Burna Boy, and Don Toliver.
Victony has amassed nearly five million monthly listeners on Spotify, one billion YouTube views across videos and over one million Instagram followers. Soweto alone has generated over 130 million streams and one million TikTok creates to date, landing him a record deal with Joie Manda’s Encore Recordings.
Victony is managed by Jemedafe Caleb of KVLT WRLD, as well as Tobi Mohammed of The Plug Entertainment. He is also represented by Kelvin Nana of Bray & Krais.
The artist, dubbed the ‘Outlaw King’, has been producing music since childhood, initially in the realm of hip-hop. However, it was his foray into Afrobeats with hits like Holy Father featuring Mayorkun and the release of his EP Outlaw in 2022 that catapulted him onto the global stage.
Victony also made notable appearances on Burna Boy’s album Love Damini and the Colors channel. Recently, he concluded a successful North American tour alongside Rema.

Victony will be joining AVEX USA Publishing’s roster, which includes writers such as Ambezza (known for collaborations with Drake, Future, Lil Baby, Myke Towers), J. Que (Joji / Die For You), Will Jay (Royal & the Serpent / overwhelmed), Xansei (XG / SHOOTING STAR).

Avex USA is a unit of Japanese music and entertainment company Avex Group, which expanded into North America in April 2021.
In January, Avex USA launched a record label called Blue Suede Records in partnership with TikTok star Ari Elkins. A year prior, the company partnered with Sony Music Publishing to provide worldwide administration services (ex. Japan) to Avex USA’s catalog and roster of songwriters and producers.
