Jo Charrington is co-President of EMI Records in the UK and a widely-respected A&R specialist.
Charrington’s career began as a marketing assistant at London Records in 1992. After stints at Virgin Records and BMG, she worked in artist management for five years before moving to Epic where she began working closely with her former London Records colleague Nick Raphael.
The pair moved to Universal Music in 2011, with Charrington latterly as EVP A&R.
In 2017, Charrington was promoted to co-President of Capitol Records UK and became sole President of the label at the start of 2022.
In 2022, Charrington was named co-President of EMI Records alongside Rebecca Allen.

Jo Charrington has signed, launched and developed a wide range of platinum and multi-platinum selling artists, mainly at Epic and Capitol. Some of the marquee music names she has worked with include Sam Smith, JLS, Olly Murs, Paloma Faith and 5 Seconds Of Summer.

In 2006, Jo Charrington and Nick Raphael co-founded two independent music publishers – Salli Isaak Songs Limited and Salli Isaak Music Publishing Limited.
Under the stewardship of Charrington and Raphael, the companies became home to a number of hit songwriters including Sam Smith collaborator Jimmy Napes and Paloma Faith, among others.
Both operations were sold to Downtown Music Publishing in 2018. At the time of the acquisition, the Salli Isaak roster had written twenty UK Top 10 singles and nine UK No.1 singles, and had won multiple Ivor Novello Awards.
